TDU-Amway cordially invites you to attend our meeting “Traditional Health Knowledge Inspired Nutraceuticals” going to be held on 6th March, 2018 at Bangalore.
We intend to involve researchers and thinkers from academic institutions, industries and traditional health practitioners on a common platform to shed light on the strategy for development of TK inspired nutraceuticals by translating traditional wisdom into modern interventions. Our ultimate mission is to broaden the contemporary understanding of health and wellness by introducing Traditional knowledge’s innate concepts.
Traditional knowledge (TK) based healthcare is one of the ways to make the life truly fulfilling, the life that is bound to live. It's a framework that can begin and support change and improvement in any and every life estimation: physical, mental, energetic and significant. In present, people’s lifestyle has intensively changed while individuals are exclusively concerned about their health and wellness. People are curious about things that can improve their overall health condition. Nutraceuticals have gotten high interests because of their potential nutritional and safety profile, other than therapeutic ability.
Recent discoveries have revived the value of traditional medicines, making it rise like "phoenix rising from the ashes"- The discovery of Artemisinin for malaria & therapeutic agents from the fruit of Fructus schisandrae for hepatitis. Largely, it is becoming clear that knowledge of traditional medicines and practices will have a major role to play in wellness and treating complex diseases. This view was also reflected in the WHO Traditional Medicine Strategy (2014-2023) which emphasises the role traditional practices will have in shaping our future health strategies.
