The University of Trans-Disciplinary Health Sciences and Technology (TDU), an expression of the Foundation for Revitalization of Local Health Traditions, FRLHT, Bengaluru, introduces its first product, TamRas. TamRas is a scientifically validated drinking water purifier that uses the property of copper ions to destroy deadly diarrhea-, typhoid- and cholera-causing pathogens like rotavirus, E. coli, Vibrio cholerae and Salmonella Typhi that contaminate drinking water. TamRas also controls recontamination of purified water.
TamRas is an easy and sustainable home-solution for decontaminating drinking water. It needs no electricity or fuel, has no recurring maintenance costs, lasts a lifetime, and is simple to use. Clean every night, refill with fresh water and in the morning, safe, cool, TamRas water is ready. Since copper is a micronutrient, it provides safe drinking water plus physiological benefits for the whole family.
TDU has designed and priced TamRas to be a mass product rather than a niche one. The more families have TamRas, the greater the potential to reduce diarrhea related infant morbidity and mortality.
