The University Library is a nascent with specialized focus on developing multi-disciplinary, multi-format information resources collections providing knowledge and wisdom from various Indian systems of medicine. It is aimed at providing a ‘one stop information’ source related to Indian Medical Heritage. Over the last 25 years, the consistent efforts of the Parent foundation, FRLHT and the University is to procure as many titles and resources as possible to create a unique collections at this library useful for Students, scholars and the research community.
The University Library is a unique repository for over 8600 strong book collection related to Indian Medical heritage that includes such diverse subject areas as Philosophy, Psychology, Conservation, Social Sciences, Science, Flora, Medicinal Plants, Medicine and Health, Pharmacology & therapeutics, Ayurveda, Yoga, Homeopathy, Siddha, Unani, Traditional Remedies, Agriculture, Forestry, Gardening, Veterinary Science, Etc.
Presently TDU is looking to expand its collections with multi-disciplinary resources from Biomedicine, Integrative health sciences, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Performing and Fine Arts, Engineering and Management.
Monday to Friday: 9:30AM to 5:30PM
Saturday and Sunday: HOLIDAY
It has been customary for the Researcher/ faculties to contribute in the Library Collection Development in the university. They must recommend the relevant reference books to the Librarian. They can also recommend any Knowledge consortium, online databases and journal subscription to the library.
Otherwise any member of TDU and I-AIM may recommend the purchase of desired or relevant books and Journal subscription to the librarian. The library committee will decide based on input from faculty, available funds and academic need.
Inter library loan is a service through which library materials not owned by the ITDHST library may be requested from other libraries. The library obtains membership from ATREE, Bengaluru.
