Dr. Muralidhara Sharma is a Distinguished Ayurveda Acharya who has inspired generations of UG and PG Ayurveda students to practice authentic Ayurveda and thousands of citizens of Udupi temple town, to avail low cost, ethical and effective Ayurveda treatment.

Dr. Muralidhara Sharma pursued his graduate degree in Ayurveda at SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi and completed his postgraduate studies in surgery at Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University, from the Department of Shalya Tantra. He is currently engaged as Professor Emeritus at S.D.M. Ayurveda College and Hospitals, Kuthpady Udupi and as a private practitioner in Udupi city.

Dr Sharma has worked in various capacities such as Lecturer, Reader, Professor, Head of the Department, and Medical Superintendent in S.D.M. Ayurveda College, Udupi, and guided several post-graduate scholars and published many papers. He has served as a member in several committees of AYUSH / CCIM as an expert member.

He is a popular teacher, a good surgeon, and unlike usual academics is also a respected Ayurveda practitioner both in college and more so in his private practice in Udupi where he is known for his clinical acumen and extremely ethical services.

This D.Litt. is in recognition of his exceptional knowledge contributions to Ayurveda education ,research  and clinical services to public.
