Prantik Das conservation biologist and human behaviour researcher with a passion for understanding the intricate associations and interactions between people and the Mahseer fish species.

I am a conservation biologist and human behaviour researcher with a passion for understanding the intricate associations and interactions between people and the Mahseer fish species. As a CSIR-NET-SRF, my current research focuses on developing evidence-based recommendations for Mahseer conservation policies and population management strategies. I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Zoology from Hindu College, University of Delhi. I am also a trained artist, holding a Senior Diploma (Ankan Shree) in Painting and Sketching from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Hailing from the picturesque and serene towns of Hazaribagh and Dumka in Jharkhand, I am deeply inspired by its rich history, megalithic and tribal cultures. I also have a keen interest in singing, playing the guitar, reading and exploring history, travelling, sports, and photography.
