I am a marine biologist by training and interested in working at the intersection of marine resource harvest, exploitation and conservation. I have been working in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands since 2013 on projects related to near shore habitats and threatened species, and continue to be driven by the growing need to sustainably manage marine resources in light of rising climatic and anthropogenic challenges. Towards this, my work primarily focus on coral reef ecosystems and small-scale fisheries in the islands using a combination of field research and participatory methods. I am associated with Dakshin Foundation, an organisation that works on conservation and natural resource management in India’s coastal and marine spaces.
